VALENTINE’S Day couldn’t have been sweeter for one Berwick resident, who took home more than $800,000 after her numbers came up in Tattersall’s Saturday Night Superdraw.
The woman was one of 16 First Division winners, each taking home an $875,000 slice of the $14 million jackpot.
The winning quick pick was sold at Beaconsfield Village Lotto.
Part-owner Linda Pawlowsky said she got the call from Tattersall’s on Monday morning, telling her she had sold the ticket.
It is the first time Beaconsfield Village Lotto has sold a first-division winning ticket.
“It could have been anyone; just someone passing through – but later that morning someone came in and said it was their neighbour that won it,” she said.
“I’m so happy that it has gone to someone local that needs it.”
No shortage of valentines
