SPOKESWOMAN for the Islamic Council of Victoria, Sherene Hassan, is the guest speaker at a public forum to celebrate diversity week in the City of Casey on 25 March.
The service organisation Soroptimist International Berwick, in conjunction with the Casey Council, has organised the event, which includes a panel of prominent women.
A former chemistry and physics teacher and mother of four, Sherene is an executive committee member of the Islamic council. She has given hundreds of talks and workshops.
A 2007 media report listed her as one of Melbourne’s 100 most influential people.
The event, at 6.45pm, is open to all members of the public.
The venue is the Casey Council chambers in Magid Drive, Narre Warren.
