A THREE-CAR collision in Emerald on Sunday night 15 February has left a young woman in hospital with serious injuries.
The incident occurred at 4.25pm and involved two vehicles travelling outbound towards Cockatoo and one vehicle travelling towards Emerald on Belgrave-Gembrook Road.
Leading Senior Constable Duncan Bartley, of Emerald Police, said the car coming towards Emerald, driven by a 28-year-old Narre Warren man with his six-year-old son as passenger, sideswiped the first car heading the other way.
It then collided head-on with the second car, driven by a 20-year-old Avonsleigh woman. She was taken to The Alfred hospital with leg injuries, internal injuries and a suspected broken hip.
The driver of the first car, a 45-year-old Menzies Creek woman, received minor injuries. The man was taken to Dandenong Hospital with minor injuries. His son was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure.
Sen Const Bartley said the man would be interviewed in due course.
