Childcare centres hit the market

TWO centres in Cardinia Shire, which formerly belonged to ABC Learning are on the market.
The centres are on the Princes Highway and at 8 O’Shannessy Street, Pakenham.
They are two of 11 across the state for sale or lease to the childcare sector following the recent collapse of many ABC Learning Centres.
There are a total of 43 centres up for offer across the nation.
The centres’ facilities are suitable for childcare purposes but could also be fitting for other uses, said Jones Lang LaSalle Victorian managing director Andrew Wood.
“In most instances, the centres are modern purpose-built childcare centres in high-exposure locations equipped with facilities such as on-site car parking and other infrastructure that may also make the properties suited for other uses,” he said.
“We anticipate a very solid level of interest from childcare centre operators due to their scarcity and high replacement cost, plus other groups who recognise the underlying potential in the sites including community uses, specialist medical use, consulting suites, aged care services or developers for total redevelopment in to residential apartments.”
Eleven centres in Queensland, seven in New South Wales, six in South Australia and five in Western Australia are also being re-offered for sale or lease.
Expressions of interest close at 1pm on Wednesday 25 March at Jones Lang LaSalle offices.
