RESIDENTS and musicians from Pakenham and surrounds gathered at the Tooradin Pub on 8 March to enjoy a night of entertainment and raise money for bushfire victims.
DJs AJ and James, 2008 Australian Idol contestant Sophie Patterson, award-winning duo Pam Wouters and Meg Doherty of Ginja Roe, and musician cousins Regan and Brendon Morehu swooned the audience at the Tooradin fire appeal, helping to raise more than $5000 for the Tooradin fire brigade and two local bushfire victims.
“It was a really good night,” organiser Brett Lewis said. “There were about 170 people there.” The Tooradin Fire Appeal also featured a silent auction containing sports memorabilia, with an AFL item raking in the most cash.
“The highest bid was $600 for a Shane Crawford footy boot,” Mr Lewis said.
Other items included music, movies, and motorsports memorabilia.
