Bushfire cash boost for Bunyip

BUNYIP and District Community House will get a $10,000 boost as part of a bushfire emergency relief and recovery program.
It is one of 22 neighbourhood houses in Victoria’s fire-ravaged areas that will receive the grant.
The Neighbourhood House Co-ordination Program is not only intended to help neighbourhood houses cope with expenses incurred by emergency activities, but it is also aimed at funding community building activities when the immediate emergency is over.
Eastern Victoria MP Johan Scheffer said those in charge of Bunyip and District Community House could choose how to spend the $10,000.
“The grant is to help centres like the one in Bunyip do what they do best – create a stronger local community by bringing people together,” he said.
