BERWICK soccer prodigy Jessy Pinter is a youngster in a hurry.
The 10-year-old Brentwood Park Primary School student dreams of playing football for Manchester United and the Socceroos and he took the next step in that direction last month.
Jessy was the youngest player to represent the Monash region of the Australian Football Skool (AFS) in the elite academy’s Victorian under-12 championships at Shepparton on 21 February.
He played a starring role in the midfield during his team’s push towards a bronze medal, earning selection in the AFS Victorian squad.
Jessy, who plays for club side Springvale White Eagles, will now have the opportunity to train with the other emerging round-ball stars under the tutelage of the state’s top coaches.
Despite his rapid progress in the sport, Jessy is determined to keep the momentum going. He has already set his sights on higherhonours.
“Now I’ll try to get to a bigger goal, maybe playing for Australia,” he declared this week.
