THE PAKENHAM Show Rural Ambassador is an opportunity to represent the local community and become actively involved in the rural show while gaining valuable communication and leadership skills.
Judging occurs in two sections: rural ambassador, for ages 20 to 30 years, and young ambassador, for ages 16 to 19 years. Judging takes place in the week prior to the Pakenham Show.
The aim of the award is to highlight the talent, creativity and ingenuity of young rural Victorians and to encourage and reward enthusiastic, skilful and industrious young people living in or involved in rural environments.
Entrants may be male or female, married or single. The winner of the senior section will compete at the regional final, and if successful will move onto the 2009 Melbourne Show.
Prizes include a major cash prize for personal or educational development, sponsored by the Department of Primary Industries as well as Flowers By Jo Barnes, Pakenham.
