Trials show that whinny touch

A STRONG field saddled up for the 10th annual Tonimbuk Horse Trials.
An optimal 360 riders entered the competition which was staged on the Labour Day weekend in perfect conditions.
The event attracted riders from across Australia.
Tonimbuk Horse Trials secretary Helen Reid said the weekend was a great success
“A strong field of riders entered competed in dressage, show jumping and cross-country from beginners in the introductory to the experienced in the CIC Three Star section,” she said.
Local riders to take part in the competition were Tynong’s Nina Clarke, Macclesfield’s Emily Anker and Will Enzinger, Katja Weimann from Upper Beaconsfield, Seumas Marwood from Pakenham as well as David Middelton from Warragul.
“The local competitors did really well and it’s great to see some of the younger ones like Katja Wiemann doing so well,” Mrs Reid said.
Ms Weimann did particularly well winning the CIC Two Star on her horse BP Gallantry and one of the pre-novice classes on another of her horses BP Cosmopolitan.
For the fifth time she took out the Cardinia Shire Award for the most successful overall rider from within the municipality.
Also competing at Tonimbuk were former Olympians Amanda Howell, Megan Jones and overall CIC Three Star winner Olivia Bunn.
The Tonimbuk Horse Trials will be held again next year on the Labor Day weekend with entries for all sections opening on 1 January.
