Star asks the soft questions

WHERE do you live? What’s your favourite football team?
These were some of the questions Star News Group journalist Bridget Brady asked to the children who entered this year’s Junior Show Personality competition.
Star News Group journalist Kelly Yates and Priceline cosmetic artist Leanne Duiker had the tough task of picking the winners of each age group.
Children were judged mainly on their ability to hold a conversation. Other considerations were presentation and grooming.
Ms Duiker said she was impressed by the number of boys who entered the competition.
“There was a good mix of boys and girls,” she said.
Ms Yates said the support from the stands was impressive.
“It takes a lot of courage to get up on the stage,” she said.
“It was good to see the support from the kids’ families in the crowd.”
The winning girls were awarded with Priceline pamper packs, while the boys were given Priceline vouchers.
Ms Duiker encouraged more children to enter the personality competition at next year’s show.
