CHAIRO Christian School agricultural students enjoyed success at the Pakenham Show.
The students, from Grades 5 to 7, were thrilled to record five placings after months of preparing their Corriedale sheep and angora bunnies.
They spent each lunch break tending to the animals, student Alexandra Whitty said. And their diligence paid off. The students scored a first placing in the lamb category and second, third and fourth in the under-2 Corriedale category. They also placed second in the angora bunny section.
The students are now looking forward competing at the Bendigo Show – where they are reigning champions, Geelong Show, Royal Melbourne Show and possibly the Sunbury Show.
“I’m so happy we’re doing the Melbourne Show,” student Nathan Burgess said.
Agriculture is a compulsory subject for children in Years 5 to 7 at the school.
The Chairo Christian farm includes horses, sheep, alpacas, rabbits and chickens.
