Youngsters’ countdown

THE countdown has begun for Cardinia Shire’s National Youth Week Festival.
Young people have been busy organising the Saturday April 4 event which will feature an array of free activities and competitions for young people.
The organising committee has arranged face painting, giant games, a jumping castle, hip-hop demonstrations and a DJ.
The festival’s theme is “Make a Move”. The event, which celebrates the positive contributions young people make to their communities, will be held at PB Ronald Reserve from 10am to 4pm.
The event is accessible for those who don’t live in Pakenham with a free bus charter service running to and from the event organised with departure points at Lang Lang, Kooweerup, Emerald, Cockatoo and Gembrook.
“Pick-ups commence at 9am with a drop-off service back to the towns between 4.30 and 5pm,” council’s youth recreation officer Leonie Olsen said.
“Pick-ups and drop-offs will only be available at the designated bus stops at the designated times.”
Bus bookings are essential and must be made by Thursday 2 April by contacting Cardinia Shire Council Customer Service on 1300 787 624.
For bus timetables and more details about the event visit www.cardinia.vic.gov.au/youth.
