A COUPLE who met at a Prahran dance in 1936 celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary earlier this month.
Harold and Nancye Tayler marked the impressive milestone at the home of their daughter Lorraine and husband Rex Whiteley on Sunday, 5 April.
Family friend Jillian Ronald was master of ceremonies for the memorable occasion.
The inseparable pair, both aged 91, married in Melbourne after a two-year engagement.
They began married life in Oakleigh at the end of World War II when Harold was employed at an aeroplane factory.
Nancye worked at Dandenong Hospital for 25 years.
Four years ago they shifted from Meadowvale Retirement Village, Pakenham to Casey Manor Village in Narre Warren South.
The couple have nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Family and friends congratulated Harold and Nancye on their 70 years of wedded bliss and dedication.
