Operation ACTA saw 21 police members breath test 3197 people across three locations within the Cardinia Shire last Wednesday.
One of the five motorists detected by police allegedly exceeding the blood alcohol limit was a 66-year-old woman who blew 0.161, more than three times the legal limit.
The woman was detected in Emerald at 3pm.
A 45-year-old Pakenham South man riding a motorcycle will also be charged after he failed to stop at the public breath testing site.
At the second location, in Beaconsfield, a Queensland man of unknown age was disqualified from driving in Victoria for two years after he refused to be breath tested.
A 69-year-old Upper Beaconsfield woman was disqualified from driving for four months after she blew .074.
At next location, on Cardinia Road, police detected a 35-year-old Pakenham man with a BAC of .120. He has been summoned to appear in court.
Cardinia’s Traffic Management Unit (TMU) also detected a 45-year-old Officer man travelling at 148 km/h on Dalmore Road, Dalmore on Easter Monday.
The man’s Holden Commodore station wagon was impounded for 48 hours and the man will be summoned to court.
Acting Sergeant Anthony Templar said that the nature of the offences was disappointing.
“The five offenders that we caught had very high readings,” he said.
Acting Senior Sergeant Graham Higginbotham said traffic crimes were committed by people of all ages.
“Offenders are not age specific – it crosses all ages. We get everyone and anyone,” he said.
Act Sgt Templar said Operation ACTA would continue this week.
