A LANDHOLDER who removed multiple trees and vegetation on an Upper Beaconsfield property may be fined $6000 and required to replant 2000 plants.
The Cardinia Shire Council is also seeking reimbursement for a bus shelter which reportedly fell backwards after a windrow was mulched.
Cardinia Shire general manager planning and development Phil Walton said the owner was given a warning after the first clearing.
Following a second incident, the council sought an enforcement order from the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) requiring the owner to replant 2000 plants, pay a $6000 fine and mulch the removed trees rather than burn them.
“The owner would also be required to reinstate the bus shelter and as this has not been done, Council will undertake this work and seek to recover the cost from the owner concerned,” Mr Walton said.
