MPNFL other leagues – round 4

FORMER Melbourne big man Ben Holland booted six goals in his debut game with Bonbeach on Saturday, helping his side to its first win of 2009 in Peninsula League.
The Sharks defeated an injury-ravished Chelsea by 30 points with Paul Rebeschini also among the goals – bagging four for the victors.
Mornington defeated form side Karingal by 16 points in an exciting clash.
The Bulldogs were led to victory by veteran forwards Simon Goosey and Laurie Knot with three goals apiece. In the other round-four game Mt Eliza downed Langwarrin by 20 points, with Tim Strickland and Lyle House sharing eight goals between them. In Nepean League, Pearcedale continued its inconsistent season, losing to Rosebud by eight points in a high-scoring affair.
Big-marking Panther Kerem Baskaya booted seven goals in a losing side, but it was star Bud Ben Schultz who took the honours, collecting nine goals in a best-on-ground performance.
Baskaya was among the Panthers’ best along with veteran Shane Urbans. Sorrento played solid football to account for Hastings by 32 points, while Rye took care of Crib Point to the tune of 31 points.
Dromana coach Damon Lawrence was best afield in his team’s 107-point drubbing of Red Hill and finally Tyabb defeated Somerville by 69 points in a minor upset.
