Speedsters pay the price

THREE leadfooted drivers lost their licences in one hour last Friday, including one drink-driver caught travelling nearly 70km/h over the speed limit.
The first speedster was a 22-year-old Pakenham woman caught travelling at 102km/h in a 70 km/h zone on the Princes Highway, Officer, at 12.46am.
The woman, driving a car with two bald tyres, had her licence suspended for one month and faces various fines to the tune of $800.
Cardinia’s Traffic Management Unit (TMU) caught a 19-year-old Nar Nar Goon man doing 168km/h on the Pakenham Bypass just two minutes later.
The P-plater, whose licence conditions require a blood alcohol reading of 0.00, blew 0.149.
He has been summoned to Dandenong Magistrates’ Court for driving at a dangerous speed, exceeding the speed limit, drink driving, failing to display P-plates and failing licence conditions.
The car was not seized because it did not belong to him.
Less than an hour later, at 1.45am, police caught a 47-year-old Clayton woman travelling at 127km/h on the bypass.
