Magpies enjoy an Eagle feast

BEACONSFIELD let a winnable game slip past them on Sunday at Sweeney Reserve.
After Narre Warren got away to a flying start, the young Eagles kicked the first goal of the second quarter to get back within a single point.
From that time, the young Eagles let the opposition dominate the remainder of the quarter with ill discipline, poor disposal and bad decision making to trail the young Magpies by 27 points at the main break.
The coaching staff made a few changes to the structure at half time and the young Eagles put in a much-improved performance in the second half but could not peg back the gap, ending up 29 points at the final siren.
Connor Steel and Michael Turner put in strong performances for the second successive week and were ably supported by Jack Casey and Richard Manley with Aaron Cauzzo, Brody Strachan and Tyler Morley holding their own.
Craig Grant put in a solid last quarter and Lochie Newham and James Sloothaak tried hard all day. Gino Schouw started to show signs of improvement in his first season of football and Daniel Druch held his own in defence.
This result leaves Beaconsfield at two wins and three losses for the year and the whole team must show greater determination if they are to improve and be a force for the remainder of the year.

Goals: J. Casey, C. Grant, J. MacDonald, R. Manley, K. Martin, J. Nightingale, G. Schouw.

Beacy started well and played some impressive football in the first half, which enabled a lead at the main break.
After half time Beacy allowed Narre Warren to get to the ball first and had to chase hard which they did.
In a great game of football Beacy played well but were not able to get over Narre Warren in the end.
Scores: Narre Warren 14.11.95 v Beaconsfield 11.4.70.
Goals: M. Johnson 5, J. Brown 2, J. Gee, T. Sherer, J. Aarts, L. Mellor.

Beaconsfield travelled up the Hill this week to host Mossgiel Park in what was expected to be a great clash. The young Eagles weren’t playing as well as they did in the past games and Mossgiel Park were at their heels. After a 10-point lead at the end of the third quarter, the young Eagles wasted chances and let Mossgiel Park walk away with a nine-point victory. For Beaconsfield, the standouts for the day were Taylor Joyce, Daniel Bunston, Tom McKenna, Mitchell Brown, Matty Spargo, E. Wilson and Jake Able.
Scores: Mossgiel Park 8.7.55 d Beaconsfield 6.10.46.
Goals: M. Brown 3, D. Bunston, M. Venn, M. Spargo.

In great conditions for football the Beaconsfield side gave everything but Officer played great football and proved they were a far better side to register a major victory. Brett Monagle was sublime across half back and David Randall was inspirational in the ruck. Brayden Cassar celebrated his 50th game with a typically courageous performance.
Scores: Officer 12.19.91 d Beaconsfield Gold 0.1.1.
Best: B. Monagle, D. Randall, J. Cock, B. Sykes, B. Cassar.

The Beaconsfield Eagles followed on their strong game plan from last week and again tackled hard and stayed in front to take the match by 48 points. On another great sunny day, the boys from Beacy travelled down the highway to play Tooradin. On a big ground Beacy dominated from the outset with a clear height and speed advantage. The boys played tight hard footy continually attacking the goals, while the backline did a great job keeping them to one goal for the game.
Scores: Beaconsfield 16.10.106 d Tooradin 1.3.9.
Goals: T. Glen 5, L. Modica 4, K. O’Sullivan 3, J. Paligorov 2, H. Vogrig, M. Bedford.
Best: Lachlan Modica, T. Glen, J. Paligorov, J. Bartlett.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:UNDER 11 (1) BLUE

Beaconsfield failed to produce four consistent quarters against a team that was more committed.
Scores: Narre South Lions Navy 11.3.69 v Beaconsfield Blue 2.4.16.
Goals: B. Walkerden, L. Becirovic.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:UNDER 10 WHITE BLUE

Beacy got off to a great start kicking a couple of first quarter goals. Narre Warren were too skilled and kicked away to gain a strong lead by half time. To the players’ credit they fought on throughout the second half trying their best to match a much stronger opposition. The result was a convincing win by Narre Warren despite a great “four quarter” effort by Beacy.
Scores: Narre Warren 14.5.89 v Beaconsfield 3.2.20.
Goals: N. Williams, D. Hope, L. Thornton.
