A push is underway to start an annual music festival in the outer south-east.
The move follows the closure this year of the Dandenong Music and Arts Festival for Youth.
Advocates of a new music festival want to keep alive the tradition started in Dandenong, and they want to support the classics in the city of Casey and Shire of Cardinia, as well as for residents in the City of Greater Dandenong.
They envisage the new event to be for adults as well as for youth.
The plan is to form a new committee and to hold a meeting in Berwick on 14 June.
