A BEACONSFIELD mother is among the hundreds of local shareholders in the Beaconsfield District Community Bank – and has urged more residents to get on board.
Jeanette Debastiani didn’t hesitate in purchasing shares for the community venture and says others should follow her lead before it’s too late.
“It’s about time that banks did something that was about communities, rather than just about themselves,” Mrs Debastiani said.
“After all, our community is where we live and that’s so important, particularly when you have children growing up in the area.”
Beaconsfield District Community Bank chairman Michael Muaremov said the local committee was committed to raising the share capital as soon as possible.
“Anyone with an interest in returning banking to Beaconsfield and having a share in this exciting community venture is urged to become a shareholder,” he said.
“Shareholders include mums and dads, retirees, local business people, shop owners and traders and in fact anyone who has an interest in ensuring that Beaconsfield has banking well into the future.”
