Jack cracks Hillmen

RUGGED former Hampton Park midfielder Jack Besley booted seven goals in a brilliant game for Pearcedale to help his side to a 43-point victory over Red Hill in Nepean League on Saturday.
Leigh Bidey and Tim Urbans were among the Panthers best in a high-class affair at the Hillmen’s home ground.
Dromana had a solid 20-point win over Rye, thanks to a best afield effort from Jarryd Hunter, while Rosebud downed Somerville by 33 points in a competitive match.
An inaccurate Hastings got the points against neighbours Crib Point in a tight battle, while Frankston Bombers bounced back to the winners’ list by 13 points at the expense of Tyabb.
In the upset of the Peninsula League year, bottom side Pines defeated top team Seaford by six points, led brilliantly by best-on-ground Dale Tedge with four goals.
Mt Eliza also had a scare but survived, scoring a three-point victory over a determined Edithvale-Aspendale, thanks largely to a four-goal haul from Adrian Newman and a superb game from Lloyd Williams.
In more upsets, Bonbeach downed Karingal by 63 points led by interleague rover Peter Wenske and Langwarrin defeated Mornington by nine points with Garth Brown leading the charge.
The last game saw Frankston YCW down Chelsea by 22 points.
