Scouts are honoured

THREE local Scouts were recently awarded for their efforts at the State presentation of the Australian Scout Medallion Award.
Pakenham Scouts Sarah Rieschueck and Mitchell Van Doorn along with Nar Nar Goon scout Elise Spargo, recently attended the awards at Tintern Grammar.
The Australian Scout Medallion is the pinnacle of the Scout Section and is a milestone of the scouting journey.
To earn the Australian Scout Medallion, the Scout must complete the Adventurer Level Cord, including organising one of the following events that run for two nights: 30km hike, 45km canoe expedition or a 120km bike ride.
The Scout must also complete at least 10 hours of community service, be of good character, have attended a Scout leadership course and undertake a leadership project, and complete a report on it.
The Scout is then presented with the Australian Scout Medallion, a badge to put on the Scout’s uniform for Venturer and Rover Scouts, and a certificate.
