Berwick team revs at rally

Berwick’s David Nutter and Cat Taylor finished fourth at the Bega Valley Rally in NSW.Berwick’s David Nutter and Cat Taylor finished fourth at the Bega Valley Rally in NSW.

BERWICK rally car team David Nutter and Cat Taylor moved into third place in the Victorian Rally Championship (VRC) after a good result at Bega, NSW, recently.
Racing as the David Nutter Ford Used Car rally team (DNFUCrt), the duo came fourth outright in the Victorian division and eighth overall from a field of almost 80 cars to boost their standings like the VRC.
The rally was held in the hills and forests around Bega and was split over five stages, with each leg providing different conditions.
The roads varied from very wet to very dry and as a result, tyre choice was a crucial factor in the final placings.
The Nutter team, in its Subaru WRX, was on the money in four of the five stages, with one leg proving very slippery on the wrong tyres, and the team conceded about two seconds per kilometre to the lead car.
The next round of the championship, the George Derrick Memorial Rally, will be held at Avoca, from 18 July.
