Condition varies prices

A MIXED bag, as far as condition goes, saw prices vary across all categories on Wednesday at Baw Baw Livestock Exchange, Warragul.
Eighty three bullocks offered remained steady topping at 178 cents, with very little variance across the yarding with the average settling at 160.1.
One hundred and twenty seven heifers rose nine cents on average to 153.9, and topped at 186.2.
One hundred and 134 steers also managed a rise lifting 3.5 cents to 163.5, feedlotters were kept busy with a few pen lots of good quality store steers yarded, top steer price was 191.6.
Four hundred and fifty vealers containing a percentage of very light condition calves had their average slip to 179.1, and the top also slipped back to 232.2.
The bull and cow sale on Thursday failed to keep the higher values of last Thursday, although condition was regarded as lighter, 19 bulls eased to 141.3 on average and made to 166 cents, 597 cows also slipped on average and reached a top of 163.2.
