Cardinia Primary School captains Chevy Edwards and Odette Stokkel recently welcomed back former student Jean Hermon.Cardinia Primary School captains Chevy Edwards and Odette Stokkel recently welcomed back former student Jean Hermon.

IT was a blast from the past at Cardinia Primary School when former student Jean Hermon returned after an 82-year absence.
Mrs Hermon (nee Beazley) came back to deliver a history session for senior school students at the school.
Mrs Hermon was a student at the school from 1920 to 1927, growing up in the small rural township.
Her family also provided accommodation for the school teachers.
Students have been studying the history of the local area, so were keen to hear Mrs Hermon talk about school life before the advent of laptop computers, interactive whiteboards and other modern teaching technologies.
They had lots of questions and were particularly keen to learn about local floods.
Mrs Hermon reminisced about the whole-school beach picnic, a tradition that continues today.
She was accompanied by several members of her family and enjoyed a morning tea with staff after talking to the students.
