BEACONSFIELD Junior Football Club’s under-14 (2) Gold team played well for a 20-point win against Pakenham at the weekend.

The Battle of the Creek saw Berwick make the trip to Beaconsfield.
Berwick played hard, pressure football, with the young Eagles having only two scoring shots for the whole game.

In perfect football conditions Beaconsfield Gold showed great endeavour and spirit challenging Berwick for most of the game only to be finally out played by a better side.
All players contributed and showed great workrate and attack on the ball, helping the side to its best score of the season.

In a top-of-the-ladder clash, Beaconsfield and Cranbourne (both undefeated after their first round draw) squared off.
The first quarter started at a ferocious pace with both teams throwing everything at the ball and set a terrific standard of football that both teams should be proud of.
In the second quarter Beaconsfield went on the rampage playing great team football and settling up the game in its favour.
The third and fourth quarters were a dire struggle, with both teams looking to get an advantage for the finals.

The Eagles played at home and celebrated the milestone of 50 games to Cooper Sheppard and Jack Amos.
The team got off to a flier with a goal in the first minute from Jack Amos, then some strong marking up forward by Lauren Hojnacki with two great goals and the Eagles had 5.3 at quarter time.
Brayden Oliver and Brayden Humphrey kept feeding the ball to the running brigade of Brad La Roche, Zach Milon and Cooper Sheppard.
Julian Nortcliffe was excellent playing up forward, Jeremy Freemantle turned on his best game with strong marking and tackling and Jonty Savage with Jack Haw held the defence together.

Good game by Beaconsfield that came out strongly in the first quarter with four goals, setting the pattern for the rest of the match.
Mel Coinu and Rhys Nelson put in a solid four-quarter performance.
Additionally Dylan Stalker got his first goal for the club and Lachlan Becirovic bagged another.

The Eagles faced a tough opposition in the Foxes on Sunday.
The players’ tackling and determination saw them in front at quarter time.
The Foxes came back hard in the second, gaining a strong lead.
Beaconsfield players gave it their all in the second half, but found goals hard to come by. A great effort against a skilled side.
