FOUR members of the Cardinia Diabetes Awareness Group have been recognised for their community-minded efforts.
Diabetes Australia Victoria awarded Margaret Reid, Marilyn Sarbach, Janice Deken and Bev Hinds for their input during National Volunteer week from 11 to 17 May.
The Cardinia Diabetes Awareness Group has been running for five years, helping people with the disease to have a better quality of life.
Ms Sarbach has written six specialised cookbooks for sufferers struggling with their diet.
An education morning with a local dietician and a diabetes educator will be held on Wednesday 15 July at the Uniting Church, Pakenham, beginning at 9.30am.
Anyone interested in learning more about the disease can contact Barrie Reynolds on 9799 1453.
