High voltage pole patch-up

ELECTRICITY distributor SP AusNet will inspect more than 1200 powerpoles in Pakenham, Cranbourne and Narre Warren in the coming months as part of its high voltage powerline maintenance program.
SP AusNet spokesperson Natasha Whalley said inspections in the Cardinia and Casey areas were part of the company’s overall investment in ensuring reliable electricity supply.
She said some affected powerlines were on private property and that residents would be notified about maintenance works that may be required to repair them.
“Residents may notice SP AusNet crews in the area during the next few months, digging around the bottom of poles and using overhead inspection techniques,” Ms Whalley said.
Residents wanting to report damage to powerlines can contact SP AusNet’s 24-hour faults line on 13 17 99.
