New Lioness club opens

PAKENHAM has a new Lioness club. At the certification of the club, a group of ladies took the pledge of Lionism to become part of the largest service club in the world.
There with them for the special occasion were Cardinia Shire mayor Bill Pearson and MP Edward O’Donohue, as well as members of Lions and Lioness clubs in district 201V3.
The club is Pakenham’s first Lioness club.
District chairman Wendy Keogh described the members as an enthusiastic group who would be working for those less fortunate than themselves, and they had already been busy fund-raising.
“I am delighted they have taken on the challenge,” she said.
Members will hold their monthly dinner meetings at Cardinia Club in Racecourse Road, Pakenham, on the fourth Tuesday of the month at 6.30pm.
