NINETY-TWO new bus services are now departing from Kooweerup each week.
A new timetable was launched on Sunday, making it easier for residents in the swamp to get around. The number of weekly services has increased from 54 to 146. Connections to and from the Kooweerup interchange include Yarram, Korumburra, Nyora, Cape Paterson, San Remo, Grantville, Corinet Bay and Corinella.
Cardinia Shire Port Ward councillor Stuart Halligan said residents were now looking forward to a Pakenham connection, which is expected to be launched later this year. The State Government has invested $750,000 to establish the Kooweerup interchange and will soon also tip in more money to provide toilet and baby change facilities there.
