THE Pakenham Library will close for a week from Friday 14 August as it relocates to its temporary home.
As planning gets underway for a $7.1 million project featuring a new library and public hall at the PB Ronald Reserve, the library will move to portable buildings located in John Street, on the old netball courts between the CFA running track and Pakenham outdoor pool.
The Cardinia Shire Council and the Casey Cardinia Library Corporation have ensured that residents can continue to access a full range of library services.
The library will close for a week from 6pm on Friday 14 August as the move takes place.
During this week only returns and collections of reserve materials will be possible from the existing library building.
The temporary library will feature a customer service area, and collections of books, large print books, DVDs, CDs, talking books and children’s materials.
It will open for business on Monday 24 August. Opening hours at the temporary library will be: Mondays, Tuesday and Fridays from 10am to 6pm; Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10am to 8pm and Saturdays from 10am to 4pm.
