BEACONSFIELD teenager Alex Benbow was the toast of the Dandenong and District Junior Football League when he won the under-16 Premier best-and-fairest award last Friday night.
Benbow, who is in the Dandenong Stingrays’ development squad, won the award by six votes from Berwick’s Jack Sheppard, while his Beaconsfield team-mate Arryn Siposs won the age group’s goalkicking with 93.
Officer pair Sean Corrigan and Joshua Grundell also enjoyed success on the league’s night of nights.
Corrigan finished third in the under-16 Division Two best-and-fairest count, while Grundell was the age group’s leading goalkicker with 83.
Beaconsfield spearhead Mitchell Johnson won the under-15 Premier goalkicking with 60.
