DOUG Hamilton made his comeback to council on Monday night – albeit as a special dinner guest.
The former Port Ward councillor, who suffered a stroke after announcing his retirement from the council, also sat in the gallery with wife Pam for the two-hour general council meeting.
Cardinia Shire mayor Bill Pearson acknowledged his former colleague for his part in the campaign to secure underground power for the Wonthaggi desalination plant.
Cr Pearson said the council was fortunate to have a healthy-looking Mr Hamilton as guest at the council dinner.“We nearly lost Doug twice,” he said.
