CARDINIA Shire Council will begin enforcement proceedings against a landowner in Officer after neighbours complained about industrial noise emanating from the property.
Civic leaders unanimously voted for the council to take action immediately after it was alleged that the owner had moved his construction business from Casey to the Rix Road property.
Cr Brett Owen said the owner had lodged a planning application with the council about two years ago. But Cr Owen said it was yet to be approved because the owner had failed to provide necessary details.
“Two years to wait for a planning application is unacceptable,” he said.
Cr Owen said those neighbouring the property had complained about noisy trucks and other equipment being used early in the morning.
Cr George Blenkhorn also said constituents had phoned him to complain about the issue.
