Why this farce?

CASEY Council is sinking into farce! If it was not people’s lives being played with, it would be a public joke!
Recently Casey’s CEO was hiding behind the mayor’s back; last week he disappeared further, hiding behind a newspaper reporter’s opinion item; a reporter who is not an employee, or adviser of Casey Council.
Two weeks ago Harkaway people were told by Casey councillors that Casey would clarify the real situation regarding public access to Old Coach Road. Instead last week, 19 August, we only got an obscure personal opinion of a reporter in his opinion column.
We challenge Casey CEO Mike Tyler to come to the Harkaway public meeting on 14 September to explain why he is not upgrading Old Coach Road to a safe standard, for all uses, during the coming fire season?
He could even do it personally and publicly any time, sooner! Seriously, Mr Tyler, Casey is fast approaching the dangerous tipping point of public ridicule!
You say this road is only being upgraded for sole use by emergency vehicles, but this is seriously contradicted by Vic Police in emergencies. On Black Saturday and during traffic accident incidents over 200 vehicles were sent safely down Old Coach Road, in its present state of safety. It is a double standard!
Why doesn’t Casey openly and genuinely share its secret concern with ratepayers?
Leading citizens are talking to me in numbers. They are ex-mayors, councillors, ex-CEOs etc not living in Harkaway and saying they believe Harkaway should have open use of Old Coach Road as an alternative road for all to use, with two lanes of width over most of its half-kilometre length, for emergency vehicles to be able to pass out going vehicles.
Ratepayers are doing their duty of care by paying their rates; the Casey council through it head public servant has a duty of care to provide fire safety to ratepayers.

Former City of Berwick mayor,
