PAKENHAM Secondary College went into lockdown last week after a student allegedly brought a weapon to school.
The online rumour mill also went into overdrive, with some bloggers reporting the student had a knife.
Principal Ray Squires said the school was temporarily locked down, but didn’t specify what the student was in possession of.
“A young person had brought something untoward to school and he left the classroom. We went into lockdown so we had some time to chase him down,” Mr Squires said.
“Police were involved but at no time was anyone under threat.”
Mr Squires said the incident was isolated and assured parents they had nothing to be concerned about.
He said the situation had been resolved and the lockdown was a precautionary measure.
