LONGTIME resident and Pakenham Racing Club committee member George Dore says traders and shoppers should be prepared to park further away from the town’s main shopping strip.
Speaking during question time at the council’s CEO address, Mr Dore said Pakenham people had became accustomed to parking right next to the shops.
“People in Pakenham have been spoiled … we’ve just got lazy,” he said.
Mr Dore said traders shouldn’t complain about the construction of an $80 million retail hub either.
“You have Chadstone being rebuilt all the time,” he said. “We are just a pack of bloody whingers out here.”
Mr Dore also had a suggestion for those in the crowd who weren’t aware about developments going on in the township.
“You would know if you read the Pakenham Gazette,” he said.
