SPRING is in the air and the Pakenham Racing Club welcomed the carnival season with a sunny day of racing last week.
The weather was kind to the race-goers and the locals made the most of the day, both on and off the track.
Kooweerup trainer Stephen Theodore saluted in the 1300m Cardinia Club Maiden Plate with five-year-old Amwaal, with Jade Darose piloting the horse to his maiden win.
Cranbourne’s Grant Dalziel collected a double on the day with Testy Girl and Sylconi winning the Luxbet.com Maiden Plate and Tab.com.au 0-68 Handicap respectively.
Moorooduc trainer Gary Carson claimed the Pakenham Gazette 0-62 Handicap with Rays Bounty, ahead of Sir Tristaclang and I’m So Classical back in third.
Pakenham’s next feature meet is the Pubs and Clubs day on 29 September.
