FOOTY finals fever is sweeping Bunyip Primary School.
Students donned the colours of their favourite teams and ate pies on Monday as part of a fundraiser for the Royal Children’s Hospital.
Principal Ted Lease said some footy colours stood out in the crowd.
“Collingwood were extremely popular, and Richmond, my team, were also,” he said.
“I told the joke at the assembly that I bought my scarf in 1980 and had hardly worn it since.”
Mr Lease said some students thought outside the square, wearing the colours of NRL team Melbourne Storm, which earned a preliminary final spot on the weekend.
There were many representing the Bulldogs, of both the AFL and Bunyip variety.
Mr Lease said the day, organised by the school’s junior Red Cross team, raised $216.
