Governor and Chief Scout of Victoria, Prof. David De Kretser AC presented the awards on Saturday, 3 October.
The Queen’s Scout award takes around three years to complete and is well recognised in the community as requiring great commitment, dedication, community involvement, adventurous activities, personal growth and the acquisition of leadership skills.
Chief Commissioner of Victorian Scouting, Mr Bob Taylor, said that the young men and women achieving the award had dedicated many hundreds of hours to community service and personal development, learning many new skills such as teamwork, leadership, friendship, personal confidence and self-reliance.
The Queen’s Scout Award is the highest award a Venturer Scout can achieve.
Venturer Scouts are male and female youth members of scouting, aged between 14 and 17 years.
Young people between the ages of six to 26 years of age can become scouts.
