Santa brings the sparkle

SANTA Claus will make an appearance at one of Berwick’s most decorated homes this Christmas Eve.
Come December, Nigel and Debbie Fitton’s Homestead Road is transformed with ‘thousands’ of lights and Christmas-themed decorations.
The Fittons’ annual display has been listed on several websites as one of the best in Melbourne and was a finalist in the Channel 7 and Gold 104.3 Christmas light competition last year.
Mr Fitton said one of his employees, Steve Persson, helped with the layout of lights and decorations, starting six weeks before Christmas.
“We just do it for the enjoyment for all the kids and the big kids. We get asked in August and September if we are going to do it again,” he said.
“We meet so many people I go out the front and people talk to you and say we’ve never seen anything like it.
“Santa will arrive at around 9pm on Christmas Eve. He was a big hit last year and all kids will get lollies,” Mr Fitton said.
See Santa at 80 Homestead Road, Berwick.
