Songs a little wrong

SITTING in an empty cinema with five of my best friends, no-one would have believed that we, all twenty-somethings, would be this excited to see an animated film.
Tangled, Disney’s 50th and next animated offering, has received much praise.
Like Shrek, it’s supposed to have something for all ages, and looking around now at a full to capacity cinema, there was no-one under the age of 18.
Add a touch of 3D, and you can’t go wrong .
As the cinema darkened and we placed our glasses over our eyes, the story began with a song.
“Oh no, this is not going to be anything like Shrek,” said a disappointed friend who previously was as excited to see Tangled as anyone.
The fear of Disney’s hottest offering for the summer turning into a musical quickly dissipated and the story (loosely based on Rapunzel) provided many chuckles and even had a few of the lads sitting behind us in stitches.
The long-haired Rapunzel, played by Mandy Moore, has spent her entire life in a tower, but when she falls for a wanted bandit she strikes a deal to take her to the outside world.
Tangled was an enjoyable escape from reality – as long as you don’t mind a few ditties thrown in along the way.
