PREMIER
TOORADIN won the toss and batted against Pakenham Upper/Toomuc and promptly lost 6/17 from 14 overs against the pace attack. Fortunately for Tooradin the tail wagged and its last five players all made double figures. Jay Wilson top-scored with 41 and had a 34-run partnership with Matt Finch (18) and a 37-run partnership with Steve Hamill. Hamill and Rory Alder added 33 for the last wicket to reach 138 in 46 overs, with Hamill remaining 34 not out.
PUT faced 34 overs and was 3/88 at stumps. It had a 73-run partnership before Brenton Adams took the next three wickets, ending with 3/18, while Chris Smith was 61 not out. Tooradin will need early wickets next week to have any chance of winning this game.
SUB-DISTRICT
At St Francis in Beaconsfield Tooradin lost the toss and SFX Old Collegians batted all day to be 217 at stumps. Wickets were evenly spread with Jarred Thompson taking 2/28 (11 overs) and Craig Dicks 2/60 (23). In a much-improved fielding effort, the team managed four run-outs through Sam Clarke, Matt Walker, Sean Baker, Brad Sauer and Jarred Thompson. Tooradin will have to bat out its overs next week to pass this score.
B GRADE
In a disappointing batting display in Emerald Tooradin, after winning the toss, was dismissed in 27 overs for 71. Only Andrew Sparks (22) and Adam Galea (19 n.o.) reached double figures. Tooradin’s bowlers fought back and had Emerald 4/43 before they steadied and hit the front, ending at 7/111. Nick Schreurs took 3/17 from six overs and Adam Richmond had 2/8.
E GRADE
Clyde was in early trouble at 4/20 after electing to bat. Captain Brendan Jones again bowled well for 2/14 from 11 overs and provided great support for the improving Andrew Proctor who took 3/11 from 15 overs. Ross Simpson (2/25) and Dylan Sutton (2/13) also contributed well. Adam Splatt took four catches behind the stumps as Clyde was bowled out for 93. In response, Tooradin was 1/11 from 10 overs requiring another 83 to win.
UNDER 15
Tooradin green managed 7/125 from 40 when it chose to bat against Devon Meadows. It got away to a good opening partnership of 47 between Nic Simpson and Andrew Proctor. Nic was dismissed for 21 and then Jake Dean and Andrew added 30 runs for the next wicket before Jake was run out. When Andrew was dismissed for 37 Tooradin was 3/79. Another partnership of 26 between Rohan Simpson (13) and Fraser Rendell (8) saw the score move to 5/111.
Tooradin Red made 9/115 from 31 overs against played Kooweerup at home, thanks again to the efforts of Dylan Sutton (42 n.o.) assisted by Luke Adams (15) and Tim Lenders (12). In reply Kooweerup was 1/16 with Tim Lenders 1/1 the wicket taker.
UNDER 13
Against Officer Tooradin was sent into bat and lost wickets early. The innings was held together by opening batsmen Rohan Simpson who made 32 not out of the score of 69 from 27 overs. Tom Bethune made seven. Officer was 3/22 from 10 overs. Lewis Johnson took 1/6, Liam Adams 1/2 and Ben Proctor 1/3 in a good fightback.
UNDER 11
Tooradin got away to a great start against Kooweerup to score 74 with a 33-run partnership between Harry Spierings and Ned Harrison. Josh played some good shots. The bowlers struggled to take wickets but kept Kooweerup to 28 runs and gave away fewer wides.
