New bed for her back

PAKENHAM local, Jennifer Johnstone, can finally get a good night’s sleep.
After four painful years and a fight with the TAC, Snooze Fountain Gate will soon deliver the orthopaedic bed Ms Johnstone needs after a horrific car accident.
“I will love to have a good night’s sleep again – it will be fantastic,” Ms Johnstone said.
After years of pain and rehabilitation, Ms Johnstone took up her fight with the TAC for the cost of her new bed and medical costs.
The TAC agreed on the ‘sale’ price for an orthopaedic bed but before it could be finalised the price went up, Maurice Blackburn Lawyers Frankston senior associate Canda Glanville said.
“Luckily, Snooze Fountain Gate owner Neal Brimfield agreed to discount the bed for Ms Johnstone to TAC’s agreed price, and also deliver it for free,” she said.
An occupational therapist selected three possible beds and Snooze sales consultant Dale Mallows helped Ms Johnstone pick the perfect one, taking the cause to owner and manager Mr Brimfield.
“You very rarely get help in that way, so when someone comes in that you can help, you want to get behind it,” Mr Mallows said.
The bed will help support Ms Johnstone’s back while she is sleeping.
She currently only gets four to fives hours sleep a night and always wakes up in pain. Ms Johnstone had a metal rod inserted in her back after a truck hit her vehicle on the South Gippsland Highway at Lyndhurst in 2006.
