THE first round of the George Naismith – the annual 4BBB event at the Lang Lang Golf Club – was played on Saturday and saw B. Blight (32) and T. Weir (24) crowned the winners with a combined +9.
The top eight groups qualify for the next round, which saw +6 on countback make it through.
Regular Thursday competition saw James Hedrick (9) pull through in deplorable conditions with 34 stableford points. Big improver Nick Dehey couldn’t play because of his seven handicap.
Tuesday par competition saw Peter Cooke blitz the field with a +8, including nearest-the-pin glory.
Lang Lang Golf Club holds a Wednesday competition for women and an open event on Saturdays.
