THE MPNFL will clash with the Ovens and Murray league at Frankston Park on 28 May.
The Sharks, led by fourth-year coach Paul Kennedy and his team – including Pakenham coach Michael Holland – are aiming for their third sucessive win.
Under the ranking system adopted last year, the MPNFL is ranked fourth best league in Victoria, while the Ovens and Murray is rated as the third best.
The team comprises players from all 32 teams across the league’s three divisions.
The Casey Cardinia division played an integral part of last year’s 49-point victory over the Hampden league at Camperdown, with Justin Berry (Cranbourne), Luke Walker (Pakenham), Nick Scanlon (Narre Warren) and Andrew Williams (Beaconsfield) prominent.
Representatives from the Casey Cardinia division in the initial squad are Nathan Page (Berwick), Justin Berry, Matthew Fletcher and Curtise Barker (Cranbourne), Geoff Humphreys (Keysborough), Nick Scanlon, Michael Collins, Lee Boyle and Jackson Parker (Narre Warren) and Chris Smith, Luke Walker, Dean Blake and Nathan Lieshout (Pakenham).
The Ovens and Murray League, led by first-year coach Matt Prendergast, won the last meeting between the leagues in 2004.
