EDDIE McEverywhere (AKA Eddie McGuire) is again in the limelight, hosting Channel Nine’s new sporting show “Between the Lines”.
Now in its second week, the show lacks depth, humour or likeability and has fallen far from the tree.
Televised just before Eddie’s former ratings winner The Footy Show, it seems the “host with the most” might want his old job back and is purely flexing his muscles for the rest of the 2011 AFL season.
Between the Lines is not the right way to go about it.
Footy “comedians” such as Mick Molloy and Ryan “Fitzy” Fitzgerald provide a lacklustre comedy attempt at all things sport.
Enter “has-been sporting heroes” and “who the hell is that” personalities and the show just falls flat.
Maybe it’s an attempt by Nine execs to make The Footy Show look good? Whatever the reason – it may have viewers screaming to “bring back Warnie”.
