They’re ready to serve

IT’S the dedicated work in the fast-food industry that has secured Red Rooster of Pakenham a finalist’s slot in the Cardinia Shire Franchised Business category.
The business prides itself on its intense community work, sponsoring Pakenham Cricket Club and Catani Football and Netball Club, supplying them $1000 worth of vouchers to distribute to the kids.
They cater for local sporting events, companies and occasionally for nursing homes with their unique Red Rooster day.
“I take pride and drive the business in all areas, from preparing the chickens to motivating the staff,” said owner and operator Joey Volange. Environmental concerns are also a top priority for the business, with a number of practices in place to ensure sustainability.
These include waste management, oil management, pest control, low electricity use, water conservation and a high standard of handling and disposing of chemicals.
At Red Rooster Pakenham, employees undertake an extensive training program prior to work, too, which helps to ensure customers’ needs are met to the best ability.
Workers complete online training to learn about safety, hygiene and customer service and are encouraged to obtain a Certificate III in hospitality.
In the past, the business has won a national Red Rooster award for most improved store, a Red Rooster award for best customer service in 2010, and the Cardinia Shire Franchised Business award in 2009.
