Australia’s Got Talent … or so we are told.
After the bumper first finals show, last week’s offering left me questioning its very title.
A Logies has-been, a guy who swallows razor blades and a group of kids wearing way too much lime green eye shadow just doesn’t cut it.
The judges raved and gave standing ovations to acts that were less than impressive after announcing a change to the show.
In a shock twist, host Grant Denyer announced that three acts from each semi-final would advance through to the next round. In past years only two acts have made it through each show.
Who would’ve thought – it seems the show just has too much talent.
I’ve got a solution – cut the crap acts before they get to the finals.
Only one act should go through from last week’s episode – Houdini-like Constantino was a stand-out risking his life for a locks-and-water performance that had his mother so worried she refused to watch.
The judges need to tone down their excitement and Grant needs to find a role in the show instead of making awkward jokes off stage.
Lucky for them television isn’t great on a Tuesday night, so I’ll keep watching – but then again – things can only get better.
