EMERALD Fire Brigade’s recent auction fundraiser at Elevation @ Emerald was a roaring success, securing $5000 for the brigade’s eagerly awaited new salvage vehicle.
Local traders, residents and supporters from around the area brought forward a range of auction items for people to bid on.
And Ritchies IGA, Emerald Community House and Macclesfield Primary School all formed group tables to show their support for the local fire brigade.
Ritchies made a surprise donation to the brigade, chipping in $10,000 and doubling the total raised from the auction.
Emerald CFA’s Jody Yandle said: “The brigade wishes to sincerely thank Ken Billman and the staff at Elevation for organising the event, the many supporters who provided auction items, and the Emerald community for supporting them so strongly.
“Without such valuable support, the brigade would not be able to serve the community to the standard in which it does.”
Emerald’s new truck will replace its current salvage vehicle, which is more than 30 years old.
Captain Paul Yandle said the brigade was expecting delivery of the new vehicle by the end of the month.
